❓ Player FAQs

I

Do I need to buy 33 Immortals? What platforms are supported?

The game is buy-to-play (optional cosmetic purchases, no pay-to-win). Available on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Xbox App), with day-one access on Xbox Game Pass. EA purchasers automatically receive the 1.0 full release at no extra cost. The Steam version launched alongside 1.0. Note: Epic/Xbox purchases and saves cannot be transferred to Steam; the Steam version requires a separate purchase.

II

Do I need 33 people to start playing?

Not at all. The game uses instant matchmaking — join solo or party up with up to 4 friends, and the system fills the room automatically. The "jump right in" design has no lobbies; disconnects are backfilled with new players.

III

How do we coordinate without voice chat?

The game features a three-layer communication system: Emote Wheel, Tactical Pings, and Co-op Power feedback (Co-Strike cyan lines). Aura effects make ally skills visible on screen, letting you sense timing without a word.

IV

Do I lose all progress when I die?

After each run, resources and relics collected during that run are lost, but permanent Perks and soul upgrades are retained. The classic roguelike loop of "permanent growth + temporary build."

V

Should beginners enable Ordeals?

Learn the basics first, then gradually enable Ordeals starting at Agony 1–3. Each equipped Ordeal raises Agony and grants richer rewards. Can be toggled on or off at the Bone Shrine at any time.

VI

What does the Bone Shrine do?

The Bone Shrine is a healing checkpoint within runs — 12 per world, costing 25 Bones to restore your and nearby allies' health. Cannot be used before the Ascension Battle, making it the last heal before a boss fight. Charon's Shop in Dark Woods sells cosmetics.

VII

What's the difference between Relics and Perks?

Relics are temporary passive items for a single run — up to 8, rerollable at the Bone Shrine. Perks are permanent passives across runs — up to 6 slots, upgraded to Rank 5 at Dante. Simply put: Relics are "how do I play this run," and Perks are "become stronger forever."

VIII

What is Co-Strike?

Triggers when multiple players attack the same enemy simultaneously. Cyan lines link synergizing players; higher stacks grant greater crit rate and damage bonuses. This is the core mechanic of 33-player co-op — encouraging focused fire.

IX

What weapons are in the game?

Currently 4 weapons: Sword of Justice (tank), Daggers of Greed (burst), Staff of Sloth (control), Bow of Hope (ranged). Gluttony and Charity coming in future updates. Each weapon has a unique energy gauge, Co-op Power, and 6 Masteries.

X

What is Soul Form? How do I revive?

When HP reaches zero, you enter Soul Form — a translucent ghost that can move slowly but cannot attack. Other players can approach and hold the interact key to revive you. If not revived in time, you die and exit the run.

XI

What is the story and map progression?

Inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy. Currently open: Inferno (Hell) and Purgatorio (Purgatory). Paradiso coming in a future update. Dark Woods is the player hub.

XII

How do I unlock Dante and other characters?

Dante is a guide and perk merchant, not a playable character. You play as a "cursed nameless soul" and can customize appearance with capes, weapon skins, halo effects, etc.

XIII

Is there a solo or offline mode?

Currently no dedicated solo or offline mode. The core design is 33-player co-op. You can create private rooms with friends only (up to 4), but remaining slots are filled by matchmaking.

XIV

How do I view stats and achievements?

Xbox and Epic achievement systems supported. The 1.0 / Steam version includes the full achievement list. During EA, complete Feats to unlock rewards and raise Feat Level (Lv.6 → Weapon Upgrades, Lv.8 → Relic Wishing).

XV

How do I report bugs or give feedback?

Use the official Discord (devs are active), the Thunder Lotus support page (includes Known Issues list and bug report form), or the in-game feedback survey. Patches and content updates are released regularly.
